Happy Wheels is a ragdoll-physics-adventure based Flash game created by Jim Bonacci and launched in June of 2010. Players control a selection of various, unique characters with their goal being to get to the finish line, activate a trigger that triggers victory, or collect a required amount of tokens while avoiding being splattered across the level by many hazards and obstacles. Users may create and share their own custom scenarios using the expansive level editor, play some of the over 10 million already-existing user-made levels, or take a look at some of the featured levels – the best levels in the game. The game is most notable for its dark sense of humor and its large amounts of blood and gore. The full version allows you to go to the up-to-date version, while the demo stays on v1.10, with limited features.
Jim Bonacci was motivated to make the game out of disappointment of other ragdoll-physics games. In an October 2010 interview, he stated that “No one was making their ragdolls die properly. They’d usually flop around harmlessly or in some instances have the same canned animation over and over.” Originally, Happy Wheels was made for fun between Jim and some friends, it only contained Wheelchair Guy, and the first level, Happy Green Hills. After it gained some popularity, he made it into what the game is now, and published it to his website on June 4th, 2010.
The demo version of Happy Wheels has been available on many sites including Newgrounds and OneMoreLevel, but you can only play the full version of the game at Total Jerkface (Jim Bonacci’s website) since June of 2010. The mobile app was released for iOS devices on August 19th, 2015, and for Android on January 25th, 2020. On December 28th 2020, a JavaScript remake was uploaded on the Total Jerkface website. Though I still love flash, what’s great about this version is that it performs very well on mobile devices. However, this release does not yet include on screen mobile controls. Though I mentioned previously that the game would now run at 60 fps, some of the heavier levels definitely bog down at that framerate. It is already possible through a setting though, so perhaps I could host a 60 Hz version on another page for those with super beefy processors. System Resource usage on CS6 is extremely well-improved with their support of 64-bit operating systems. Though your system might be bogged down by having multiple windows open and especially working with a ton of layers, this version does improve on what CS4, CS3 and before that stumbled on.
With the menus have been changed slightly with Adobe Photoshop CS6, it didn’t take very long for us to get used to the new arrangements (which were actually minimal). Thankfully, keyboard shortcuts remain traditional to older versions. If you haven’t used Photoshop before or you are not a seasoned user, we highly recommend getting used to some of the keyboard shortcuts as this can shave a load of time off of whatever task you’re working on.
One thing about Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended that we were impressed with was their improved handling of text. When comparing to older versions, it appears that rendering of fonts has become sharper and less pixelated than what we’re used to with Adobe Photoshop versions before this.
While Photoshop isn’t the easiest program to get used to, there is a steep learning curve involved but when you’re past that, this is the best photo editing suite we’ve ever seen. The learning curve for Adobe Photoshop has become less stressful with this iteration as the menus and design has become more minimalist. The online help available from Adobe.com certainly help new and seasoned Photoshop users.

Superior Air Parts filed for bankruptcy on 12/31/08. Their overhaul, manufacturing, and sales operations have continued as before, but under U.S. Bankruptcy Court supervision. Bids to the court for the Superior assets were made by both the Continental and Lycoming ownership in early 2009. Accordingly, the Bankruptcy Court ordered an auction of Superior’s assets to take place on 2/24/09. Before the scheduled auction, the Texas Attorney General’s Office announced that the sale to either Continental or Lycoming was under investigation on the basis of Texas antitrust laws (KP4/09 and an Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Webpage). The auction was postponed and the issues have not yet been settled.
The Superior bankruptcy occurred, apparently, as the result of the 4/24/08 bankruptcy in Germany of Superior’s parent company Thielert Aircraft Engines, see the Thielert Website. The Thielert bankruptcy followed the accusations of fraud in published revenue figures by Thielert top management. As for Superior, the Thielert factory has continued operations and on 4/6/09, the Bankruptcy Court permitted the re-organization of the firm as Centurion Aircraft Engines located in the existing Thielert factory in Lichtenstein, Germany (KP7/09 and the Centurion Website). There does not seem to be any corporative link now between Thielert and Superior.

The original Superior XP-360 engine has the same dimensions as the Lycoming O-360 series engines, but is claimed to have detailed design and manufacturing improvements. The engines have been sold since 2001 as kits to be assembled for non-certificated use on homebuilt and other experimental aircraft installations. The engines can be built by an individual at his own shop or at the Superior facility with oversight by trained mechanics. Alternatively, the engines can be purchased from Superior, or their approved sub-contractors, completely assembled and ready for installation on experimental aircraft. The first of these sub-contractors was Teledyne Mattituck, but others can be found on the Superior Website or the XP-360 Website. Details of these engine versions can be found in KP4/01, 4/02, 4/03, 2/04, 4/05, 7/05, 4/06, 3/07, 3/08; SA7/98, 6/01, 2/05.
Superior announced in 2004 that the series would be extended to include the following Lycoming-based engines, although some have not yet appeared:

Superior XP-360 based on the O-360 parallel-valve versions. This engine remains Superior’s main experimental-engine kit business, and they have added a Superior XP-360 Plus, which has ’roller lifter’ technology for valve actuation that was developed by Thielert.
Superior XP-361 based on the IO-360 angled-valve versions. This engine is no longer described on their Website at the date of this revision, but it appears to be the basis for the Superior XP-400 described later.

Another version of the XP-360 is the turbo-normalized Superior TNIO-360 (KP10/05; SA6/04), which was developed for the Lancair Legacy experimental, kitbuilt aircraft and is available only from Lancair. A turbo-normalized engine maintains constant rated power from sea level to some relatively high operating altitude by increasing manifold presssure as the aircraft climbs. It was reported at one time (SA7/98) that Superior also had plans for XP-500 engines based on the Lycoming O-540 series.
Superior announced their development of the Superior XP-400 non-certified engine at the 2006 Sun ’n Fun Show (KP7/06, 8/06; SA 6/06). This engine is based on the Superior XP-361 angled-valve engine mentioned above and has an increased bore and stroke. This new engine, which has the same external linear dimensions as the IO-360, is described below.

The high compression ratio of the engine combined with the digitally controlled fuel injection system mirrors similar advances in automotive technology.[citation needed]
Centurion series engines are always fitted with constant speed propellers which allow the engine to be operated at optimum speed at all times. However, the normal operating speed is too high for any suitable propeller and so the propeller is driven through a reduction gearbox. The constant speed propeller and reduction gear result in a propeller tip speed that is 10-15% lower than comparable conventional avgas engines, reducing propeller noise.[citation needed]

The main difference is a new Mercedes-Benz OM640 engine cylinder block from the Mercedes-Benz A 200 CDI (W169) with a displacement of 1991 cm3 (Ø83 x 92 mm). Other improvements include a more compact FADEC, a lighter cast gearbox housing, interfaces for glass cockpits and a new service tool that allows the FADEC to be programmed in the field. Dimensions of the Centurion 2.0 and 1.7 are nearly identical and the install kits are compatible, so a 1.7 at the end of its life can be replaced with a 2.0. The Centurion 2.0 is rated for a power output of 135 PS (99 kW), the same as the 1.7, but is EASA and FAA certified for 155 PS (114 kW). Fuel, oil, and cooling lines are replaced at 60 months[10] except for the Robin DR400 where these items are ’on condition’ with no set life-limit. THE NEW SKILLS MODEL
Consistent with the Company’s strategic re-orientation, a new skills framework was established in the first half of the year that applies to all development systems (Recruiting, Performance Management, Evaluation of Potential, Job Mobility) and helps identify and reward people who best fulfil the characteristics based on the current organizational and business context.
Development Model
[G4-LA11] Through the integration of all the assessment processes the development model aims to ensure accurate knowledge of people in order to create individual development plans fine-tuned to the characteristics of each person and aimed at managerial and professional improvement and growth. The development model is based on the skills model and takes account of the Business Strategy objectives, in order to improve the contribution of people to the new business needs and challenges.
The model consists of the following processes
*Recruitingandselection: in February 2016 the new Recruitment and Selection procedure was issued, aimed at integrating the processes for the internal and external scouting of professional and managerial skills. Again as part of the re-engineering of the process, in March the Recruiting module was issued on the new HR platform, called PeoplePlace. Over time the platform will enable the management of all the selection, development and training processes of the People in the company.
*External Recruiting: during the first few months of 2016, the skills requirement determined by the 2015 Plan was satisfied by hiring 32 recent graduates/professional apprentices, selected from 330 candidates.
*Internal Recruiting: 42 professional profile searches were started and completed via job posting, for which 780 applications were submitted.
*Onboarding programme: these programmes are intended to provide new recruits with the tools to optimise their speed of response. In May, an onboarding training process was launched for 76 colleagues newly hired between late 2015 and May 2016, and in October a second modular onboarding process was launched for a further 27 colleagues.
*[G4-LA11] Performance Management: The process involves the evaluation of the goals and behaviour of the entire workforce (managers, professionals and employees) and is divided into four phases (assignment of objectives, evaluation, feedback, development plans). In the first four months of 2016 the 2015 Performance Management process was concluded which involved the entire Domestic Business Unit (around 50,000 people): [G4-LA11] 99.8% of the people were evaluated by their manager, 99% of the people said they had received feedback from their manager, 91.3% of the people entitled received a 2015 post-performance development plan (including the managers). On 14 September, the 2016 Performance Management process was launched with the assignment of objectives and was completed in December.
*Individual development plans: an analysis and data processing system was designed, the Playbook, which, based on the results of the performance management supports managers in defining an individual development plan for each collaborator comprised of training initiatives, in-the-field actions and job rotation. The development plant assignment process was launched in July and completed at the end of October. In total, 32,392 plans were assigned (out of a target of 35,552 potential recipients), including 1,057 managerial plans (out of a total of 1,387 potential managerial plan recipients).
*Managerial Development: consists of a series of processes and plans (assessment of potential; appointment to executive grade; succession planning; managerial leadership development plans) for identifying and rewarding the existing and future managerial assets of the Company. These processes and plans creates a leadership growth promoting an internal scouting rather than an external recruiting.
Furthermore, the design of two new development processes is nearing completion:
*Knowledge Review, with the dual aim of mapping the technical skills existing in the Company and identifying the “knowledge holders”, i.e. people with critical skills. Following this verification process, individual development plans will be drawn up to enhance professional leadership;
*Motivation Review, which measures individual motivation based on aspects that are less conditioned by external factors - related to the environment - and therefore more stable over time. It is based on ad-hoc tools validated by testing within the Group.
In Brazil
In 2016 four main programmes were implemented in TIM Brasil which had a great impact on people, in coherence with the organizational changes and the competitive positioning on the market:
*Skills Model: after having defined the new strategic plan, TIM Brasil adopted the same Skills Model as the Group, focused on a process of selecting the people most geared towards meeting the company requirements. This model will guide all HR processes
*[G4-LA11] PerformanceEvaluation1: in 2016, a change was made to the evaluation scale, which now consists of 7 points, as indicated by TIM. This should bring benefits including a standardisation of the curve and a better distribution of results (omissis)
*Career paths: the Career Workshop programme continued in 2016 to promote personal reflection and encourage involvement and commitment to Career Management, to raise awareness and promote a proactive attitude in individuals, with a view to building a career and an Individual Development Plan.
*Culture: in 2016, we undertook a number of actions with tier 2 subordinates involving group coaching sessions to deal with management issues that are consistent with the level of maturity of the team.
TRAINING
[G4-LA10] Since it was launched in the first half of 2016, the TIM Academy (corporate university) has consolidated its role, developing an innovative approach to learning and sharing know-how, supporting the digital transformation process and the changes taking place in the company.
In summary, the TIM Academy offers programmes, courses and training, in classroom settings, online or on-the-job; it promotes the sharing of know-how and skills through communities, workshops, seminars and think tanks, with qualified national and international teachers and endorsers; it designs and delivers new digital learning formats: web-based training, videos, webinars, virtual learning, and a multidevice catalogue of training solutions that are always available and accessible.Download Telecomitalia Driver App
The training activities are split into four macro-categories:
*management education;
*development of role-based and specialized skills, and new capabilities;
*development and empowerment;
*institutional and corporate culture.
For each of the above mentioned areas the main activities carried out in 2016 are set out below.
Management education
Managerial training is essential for determining the corporate strategy and technological and organisational change processes. There are two strands to this training:
*“SALP - Social Action Learning Program”: a training path that targets learning, collaboration and the generation of ideas. In 2016, it involved around 400 managers who, subdivided into competing teams, held discussions on the challenges faced the business, using digital and social working methods, with the aim of proposing innovative project to implement in the Company;
*“Onlinelibrary”: which allows all managers to benefit from videos, webinars and materials from national and international speakers on business, finance, technology and leadership topics. In 2016, around 1,400 managers made use of the training content in the online Library.
Development of role-based and specialized skills, and new capabilities
[G4-LA10] Training to develop role-based and specialized skills as well as new capabilities is essential for the implementation of the strategic drivers, and therefore occupies a central role in the Group’s training investments plan.
These are the initiatives for 2016.
*“SingleFrontEnd”: the training accompanied the complex transformation of the Front End in the Network context, ensuring the operating effectiveness of people also by measuring the effectiveness of the training itself;
*“Skill improvement of Open Access On-Field Engineers”: the Skill Assessment project, aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the work force, was launched as a pilot in September 2015, involving the whole population of around 9,000 on-field engineers from January to June 2016. The plan was implemented in 8 campaigns of 3 days each, at 59 sites across the whole country. Participants took a test on the technical knowledge required for their role. The level of participation was 99.3%. In 2017, blended training will be provided to remedy the problems identified during the evaluation;
*“Line Digital Educator”: the project, arising from Open Access’ need to train 92 line trainers to improve the skills of the in-the-field technicians was also extended to other departments involving Technology and Health, Safety & Environment colleagues;
*“Induction training”: induction programme for people coming from the external market or from companies of the Group;
*“Maintenance and Development of corporate Certifications”: measures to enable participation in tenders and contracts in the private, Central and Local Public Administration sectors;
*“Fixed and Mobile Telecommunications”: 200 induction training colleagues, plus 30 from the specialised “TIM Personal Consultant” JobCenter path, benefited from an online course on network architectures and the latest TLC technologies, provided with the help of video, animations and exercises;
*“Evolution of mobile networks towards LTE-A and 5G”: a blended training path for around 50 Technology colleagues, designed and implemented entirely by the TIM Academy Faculty, with the aim of enhancing and sharing the Group’s distinctive skills in the field of mobile radio technologies;
*“Digital BSS consumer business and caring”: commercial training plans intended to ensure the continuous updating specialised skills needed for the post held, with a particular focus on the technical knowledge required by the business and consumer offer, customer management processes and evolutionary sales channel and digital marketing models.
Development and empowerment
This type of Education allows people to enhance their capacities in relation to the evolution of the skills required by the business and by the organizational context:
*“English@TIM”: language training guidelines were revised in 2016. Digital technologies have allowed English language courses to be made available to all employees. The online language learning platform allows a personalised English course to be put together, using the many items of content available: video, audio and articles about business and general topics in English; exercises, tests and in-depth study sections for each of the items of content used. The platform also provides opportunities to take part in virtual classes, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with teachers connected by video. For proven business requirements, individual blended training paths have also been activated for different levels of knowledge of the English language;
*“LeadershipandPerformanceManagementModel”: course intended for everyone in the Group and organised into different activities aimed at developing the culture needed to guide the behaviour of the Group’s employees. The courses have involved around 35,000 people;
*“Smart Working”: training course aimed at strengthening people’s awareness of the change process generated by the Smart Working project as well as developing the skills based on new cultural models and new working methods;
*“Talent In Action”: development and training project aimed at a specific segment of the population of about 1,000 people, which provides for the definition of individual action plans, based on an articulated training offer including around 80 different initiatives, designed according to the needs of the individual.
Institutional and corporate culture
This training aims at supporting the transformation of the organization culture in line with the evolution of the social, environmental and economic context and at disseminating knowledge of the contents required by the legal formalities.
The training initiatives promoted by the following functions and departments are included as part of this activity : Compliance (aimed at increasing knowledge and respect for the Group’s value, improving the skills in processes and procedures, as well as in the methodologies and the tools used), Health, Safety & Environment (aimed at ensuring compliance with the reference regulations on Safety in the workplace), and Regulatory and Equivalence 2(for topics relating to the Antitrust and Equivalence).
Moreover, the following activities were carried out:
*“ComplianceDay”: the Compliance department has organized study days on Compliance issues for specific company departments.
*“Inside Information - Rights Management Services Training”: digital module regarding the handling of inside information. The course explains how to use the “Microsoft - Rights Management Services” application and illustrates the “Compliance requirements for the processing of inside information” procedure;
*“Antitrust”: a blended course, online and in the classroom, has been created with the aim of making employees aware of the correct application of the Antitrust regulations in the different operational departments of the company to ensure the maximum dissemination and awareness of the penalty and compensation risks above all for the departments that carry out sensitive activities. As the availability of the online module ended in 2015, around 50 classroom sessions were held in 2016 involving approximately 3,100 people. Using the mock cases3 participants gain awareness of all the parties involved in anti-trust issues, the Code of Ethics and Conduct, and the Code of Anti-trust Conduct adopted by the Company. At the end of the process, once the learning assessment test has been passed with 100% of answers correct, each participant is awarded an “open badge” to certify the knowledge gained;
*“The New Equivalence Model”: the training aims to raise awareness of the need to pay greater attention to equal treatment, the central importance of Wholesale customers, focus on process knowledge and on respect for operational procedures. Work has been done in particular on the Delivery and Assurance core processes and a “digital” training path has been implemented, aimed in particular at Open Access on-field and online engineers, to support change, with the intention of strengthening the culture of equivalence and testing operational conduct that is in keeping with the new processes, with full symmetry between Wholesale and Retail;
*“Safety”: as regards the obligations involved in the implementation of company prevention and protection measures deriving from current regulations, a series of training paths were provided in keeping with previous years aimed at ensuring the protection of all professionals that make use of the workplaces of the Group. All employees were involved in the compulsory safety modules.

The open-source driver does not currently support the remote control, but SD and HD reception is working and appears to be stable and quicker to change channels than the old TBS closed source version.As of 2014-11-27, this driver was tested with success with DVB-T transmitters in Europe. And DVB-T2 transmitters in United-Kingdom and France (only experimental DVB-T2 transmitters at Eiffel tower in Paris in France for UHD TV (AAC+HVEC)).
Drivers thrustmaster input devices device. It does not currently support the TBS6205.

Building the Open Source DriverInstalling the build dependencies
You should make sure that you have the following tools installed on your compiling system:

The directory tbs-linux-drivers will now contain README_* for various TBS-cards, check for your options (combinations of DVB-T/T2/S/C wil require various adjustments). The procedure below is a summary of those READMEs, as well as some hints/caveats. The directory will also contain linux-tbs-drivers.tar.bz2 which has v4l modules meant to be compiled out-of-tree from the kernel you are actually running. Source for your currently running kernel should be installed before attempting build. Search the files for the string ’uname -r’ if you are not happy with that.

You should get a message about tainting the kernel. This is fine.
Running dmesg | tail should end with something along these lines:
dvb adaptor nodes should now exist

Make sure you have the right C header files installed for your Linux kernel version.

Problems after kernel update
Some weeks later your /dev/dvb directory has disappeared? Perhaps your kernel was updated, and your machine rebooted. The driver needs to be recompiled.
If you just run make, it will try to compile against the old kernel headers, so first run

Some users have found that deleting the whole kernel media drivers folder (i.e. /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media ) and then compiling can resolve conflicts.
This process will fix issues resulting in ’disagrees about version of symbol dvb_frontend_detach’ messages in the dmesg output.
Normally it should be enough to make sure that you recompile the tbs drivers after every kernel build.
Instructions for this can be found in the TBS forum. They are as follows:
*First remove the existing media modules:sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/media/
*Then reinstall the modules, following steps 3 and 6 above.

Compatibility with other cards
As noted above you should remove the kernel’s existing media drivers before installing the TBS driver package, I omitted this step when installing the drivers and whilst the card worked fine (Mythtv 0.27/Debian 7) my other DVB-S2 tuner card would fail to initialize on start up. There were no obvious messages in the dmesg output indicating symbol issues, the card simply wouldn’t work. Once I removed the media directory before installing the TBS drivers the card worked correctly. (The driver in the v4l tree used by the TBS drivers was actually a different name than the one in the Linux kernel I had installed).
Fighting with another tuner card in load order at boot time - See http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=7747. Additionally it’s worth noting that the TBS drivers don’t appear to support the ’adapter_nr’ argument.

IRQ Issues
After an extended period the combined TBS driver may crash with messages (check using dmesg) such as:
This will render the device inoperable until rebooting (including IR receiver), meaning it won’t be able to record anything.
This can be resolved by configuring the driver to use MSI instead of IRQ:Tbs Tv Show
If you have a newer TBS card such as a TBS6905, or a mix of older and newer ones, then you need TWO lines in /etc/modprobe.d/tbs.conf:

IR-receiver malfunctions
Some TBS devices have an infrared receiver, that may send spurious keypresses. They are hooked into the kernel as normal input (keyboards).
To disable the remote control edit /etc/modprobe.d/dvbt.conf to read:
And reload `dvb-usb`, or reboot.

Remap IR-remote keys

For certain Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices, such as devices that are accessed by only a single application, you can install WinUSB (Winusb.sys) in the device’s kernel-mode stack as the USB device’s function driver instead of implementing a driver.

As an OEM or independent hardware vendor (IHV), you can build your device so that the Winusb.sys gets installed automatically on Windows 8 and later versions of the operating system. Such a device is called a WinUSB device and does not require you to write a custom INF file that references in-box Winusb.inf.
When you connect a WinUSB device, the system reads device information and loads Winusb.sys automatically.

When you connect your device, you might notice that Windows loads Winusb.sys automatically (if the IHV has defined the device as a WinUSB Device). Otherwise follow these instructions to load the driver:
*Plug in your device to the host system.

*Select and hold (or right-click) the device and select Update driver software... from the context menu.
*In the wizard, select Browse my computer for driver software.
*Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

The following example .inf file shows WinUSB installation for most USB devices with some modifications, such as changing USB_Install in section names to an appropriate DDInstall value. You should also change the version, manufacturer, and model sections as necessary. For example, provide an appropriate manufacture’s name, the name of your signed catalog file, the correct device class, and the vendor identifier (VID) and product identifier (PID) for the device.
Also notice that the setup class is set to ’USBDevice’. Vendors can use the ’USBDevice’ setup class for devices that do not belong to another class and are not USB host controllers or hubs.
If you are installing WinUSB as the function driver for one of the functions in a USB composite device, you must provide the hardware ID that is associated with the function, in the INF. You can obtain the hardware ID for the function from the properties of the devnode in Device Manager. The hardware ID string format is ’USBVID_vvvv&PID_pppp’.
The following INF installs WinUSB as the OSR USB FX2 board’s function driver on a x64-based system.
Starting in Windows 10, version 1709, the Windows Driver Kit provides InfVerif.exe that you can use to test a driver INF file to make sure there are no syntax issues and the INF file is universal. We recommened that you provide a universal INF. For more information, see Using a Universal INF File.
Only include a ClassInstall32 section in a device INF file to install a new custom device setup class. INF files for devices in an installed class, whether a system-supplied device setup class or a custom class, must not include a ClassInstall32 section.
Except for device-specific values and several issues that are noted in the following list, you can use these sections and directives to install WinUSB for any USB device. These list items describe the Includes and Directives in the preceding .inf file.

USB_Install: The Include and Needs directives in the USB_Install section are required for installing WinUSB. You should not modify these directives.
*
USB_Install.Services: The Include directive in the USB_Install.Services section includes the system-supplied .inf for WinUSB (WinUSB.inf). This .inf file is installed by the WinUSB co-installer if it isn’t already on the target system. The Needs directive specifies the section within WinUSB.inf that contains information required to install Winusb.sys as the device’s function driver. You should not modify these directives.Note Because Windows XP doesn’t provide WinUSB.inf, the file must either be copied to Windows XP systems by the co-installer, or you should provide a separate decorated section for Windows XP.

USB_Install.HW: This section is the key in the .inf file. It specifies the device interface globally unique identifier (GUID) for your device. The AddReg directive sets the specified interface GUID in a standard registry value. When Winusb.sys is loaded as the device’s function driver, it reads the registry value DeviceInterfaceGUIDs key and uses the specified GUID to represent the device interface. You should replace the GUID in this example with one that you create specifically for your device. If the protocols for the device change, create a new device interface GUID.
Note User-mode software must call SetupDiGetClassDevs to enumerate the registered device interfaces that are associated with one of the device interface classes specified under the DeviceInterfaceGUIDs key. SetupDiGetClassDevs returns the device handle for the device that the user-mode software must then pass to the WinUsb_Initialize routine to obtain a WinUSB handle for the device interface. The following INF installs WinUSB as the OSR USB FX2 board’s function driver on a x64-based system. The example shows INF with WDF coinstallers.

USB_Install.CoInstallers: This section, which includes the referenced AddReg and CopyFiles sections, contains data and instructions to install the WinUSB and KMDF co-installers and associate them with the device. Most USB devices can use these sections and directives without modification.

The x86-based and x64-based versions of Windows have separate co-installers.
Note Each co-installer has free and checked versions. Use the free version to install WinUSB on free builds of Windows, including all retail versions. Use the checked version (with the ’_chk’ suffix) to install WinUSB on checked builds of Windows.
Each time Winusb.sys loads, it registers a device interface that has the device interface classes that are specified in the registry under the DeviceInterfaceGUIDs key.
Note If you use the redistributable WinUSB package for Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, make sure that you don’t uninstall WinUSB in your uninstall packages. Other USB devices might be using WinUSB, so its binaries must remain in the shared folder.How to create a driver package that installs Winusb.sys
To use WinUSB as the device’s function driver, you create a driver package. The driver package must contain these files:
*WinUSB co-installer (Winusbcoinstaller.dll)
*KMDF co-installer (WdfcoinstallerXXX.dll)
*An .inf file that installs Winusb.sys as the device’s function driver. For more information, see Writing an .Inf File for WinUSB Installation.
*A signed catalog file for the package. This file is required to install WinUSB on x64 versions of Windows starting with Vista.
Note Make sure that the driver package contents meet these requirements:
*The KMDF and WinUSB co-installer files must be obtained from the same version of the Windows Driver Kit (WDK).
*The co-installer files must be obtained from the latest version of the WDK, so that the driver supports all the latest Windows releases.
*The contents of the driver package must be digitally signed with a Winqual release signature. For more info about how to create and test signed catalog files, see Kernel-Mode Code Signing Walkthrough on the Windows Dev Center - Hardware site.

Download the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) and install it.

Create a driver package folder on the machine that the USB device is connected to. For example, c:UsbDevice.

Copy the WinUSB co-installer (WinusbcoinstallerX.dll) from the WinDDKBuildNumberredistwinusb folder to the driver package folder.
The WinUSB co-installer (Winusbcoinstaller.dll) installs WinUSB on the target system, if necessary. The WDK includes three versions of the co-installer depending on the system architecture: x86-based, x64-based, and Itanium-based systems. They are all named WinusbcoinstallerX.dll and are located in the appropriate subdirectory in the WinDDKBuildNumberredistwinusb folder.

Copy the KMDF co-installer (WdfcoinstallerXXX.dll) from the WinDDKBuildNumberredistwdf folder to the driver package folder.
The KMDF co-installer (WdfcoinstallerXXX.dll) installs the correct version of KMDF on the target system, if necessary. The version of WinUSB co-installer must match the KMDF co-installer because KMDF-based client drivers, such as Winusb.sys, require the corresponding version of the KMDF framework to be installed properly on the system. For example, Winusbcoinstaller2.dll requires KMDF version 1.9, which is installed by Wdfcoinstaller01009.dll. The x86 and x64 versions of WdfcoinstallerXXX.dll are included with the WDK under the WinDDKBuildNumberredistwdf folder. The following table shows the WinUSB co-installer and the associated KMDF co-installer to use on the target system.

This tiny driver utility quickly searches your system for connected hardware. It identifies many different connected devices and also includes hardware which has been marked as ’Unknown’ in the device manager.
It gives you a little bit more information about a certain device so that you can find the proper drivers required to get it up and going in Windows.
Unfortunately when we tested an older scanner we thought was heading to the dustbin, it was configured that our old scanner would probably never work any newer version of Windows.
In short, this is a small tool which may help you figure out whether there are drivers available for your potentially outdated device.
